The performance moves from being for the children to being with the children and offers them a carefully guided adventure of the senses and the imagination. It is a very special and valuable experience. Watching the transition of your child from viewer to performer is quite something too! Suitable for all ages.
Wonderland: music and dance performances for audiences of all ages.
We believe that working with “real time” composition will give the children access to contemporary art practices, add to their education process, and increase their curiosity of the body with an emphasis on “play”.
This project is a means by which we hope to transport our work into a new context, using our methodologies for creating “real time” performances including improvisation, interactions with audience members and compositions which are formed instantly in front of the public eye.
Dance is a healthy path for children to relate to their body. Dance shows the potential of expression and physicality of the human body. In recent studies about neuron science it is said that the balance between biology and brain activity is crucial to wellbeing. We want to share dance with children to give them an idea of how we can relate to the world (art) through perception and body awareness.
On the other hand, children relate to dance through their body activity when they play games, play music, sing songs and use rhythms. It’s a very natural process for them to play with what they see, hear, feel, touch or smell.
Wonderland takes place at the OT301 in Amsterdam. This series begins at 16:00 on Sundays (once a month) with professional dancers and musicians .
