Aimar Pérez Galí (Barcelona, 1982) began his artistic studies of tap dance, violin, theater and contemporary dance in different centres of Barcelona. After being one year at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona studying Art History, in 2002 he moved to Amsterdam to follow the Modern Theater Dance program of the Theaterschool (AHK). He studied with Katie Duck, Vincent Cacialano, Emio Greco, David Zambrano, Robert Steijn, Daniela Graça, Michael Schumacher and Renée Copraij among others.
He graduated in June of 2006 and was granted to follow a workshop at the Steirischer Herbst (Graz) organized by Bojana Cveji with philosophers Brian Massumi and Erin Manning among others.
He has been selected to follow the DanceWEB scholarship program 2007 in Vienna, mentored by Jonathan Burrows, attending workshops by Marten Spangberg, Nita Little, Martin Kilvády and Chrisa Parkinson.
He has worked with Camut Band, Palindrome IMPG, Peter Greenaway, Min Tanaka, Nora Heilmann, Katrina Brown, Andrea Bozic, Pere Faura, Martin Butler, Nicole Beutler and Carolien Hermans among others.
He combines his own work as a teacher and researcher as well as collaborating and dancing for other makers/choreographers. He is a resident choreographer 2007-09 at La Caldera (Barcelona) and is part of the artists collective Magpie Music Dance Company.
