Vincent Cacialano (1968) M.F.A. has danced and toured for numerous dance companies
based throughout Europe and The United States. i.e. The Max, Factory (London), Company Blu
Danza (Florence) ), Thomas Lehman (Berlin ), Katrina Browne (Amsterdam), Susan Rethorst
(New York), Lesa McLaughlin, Sharon Wyrrick and Maida Withers (Washington, DC). He
co-founded international touring company Magpie Music Dance with Katie Duck, Michael
Schumacher and others. Since 1988 he continues to show his performance work throughout
Europe and The U.S., receiving numerous awards. He teaches movement in 3 departments of
The Amsterdam School of Art. He studied Modern Dance with Sharon Kinney, Martha Curtis,
Cris Burnside, Meg Harper, Pat Catterson and Susie Goldman and in New York with Alwin
Nikolais and with Erick Hawkins. As an undergraduate he studied Kinesiology, Dance
Kinesiology, Choreography and Acting. In graduate school he studied Improvisation, Body
Movement and Alignment Theory, and Performance Art. Since the completion of his M.F.A. he
has based in Amsterdam. Since the beginning of his professional training he has maintained
an interest in studying the body’ s structure and how it moves. This has lead to study in
Laban Movement Analysis, Ideo-kinesis, Feldenkrais Method, The Alexander Technique, Body
Mind Centering and Pilates.
